Spaces are limited.
That’s deliberate.
You will:
- be seen
- be heard
- get direct feedback in the moment
- get to know the other people around you
This is not a large tour group.
It’s a working group.
We operate in French.
That’s where the difference is felt.
You are:
- listening in real conditions
- speaking without preparation
- adjusting in real time
Your level matters less than your attitude.
If you are willing to:
- try
- stay with it
- build as you go
…you will get value from this.
This trip runs once a year.
5 days.
One location.
Limited places.
That’s why it works.
The days are organised.
You are not left to “figure it out”.
Across the 5 days, you move through a mix of:
- Café and restaurant interactions
- Markets and everyday transactions
- Group meals and shared conversations
- Cultural visits and days out
- Unstructured moments where French has to carry you
Everything is part of the learning.
Your French develops because you are moving through real places.
Typical experiences include:
- Exploring the Roman arena (Les Arènes)
- Visiting the Maison Carrée
- Time in Les Halles market
- A day trip to the Pont du Gard
- Walking, talking, ordering, reacting throughout the day.
You are not learning about French.
You are using it in context, repeatedly.
There will be moments where:
- you search for words
- you simplify
- you adapt
That’s part of it.
You are not expected to be perfect.
You are expected to stick with it. That's all.
You are still building.
The trip gives you:
- new material
- new combinations
- real situations to draw from
You return with pages that are more memorable and mean something personal to you.
You spend 5 days together.
That creates:
- trust
- shared references
- momentum
It changes how easily you speak.
This is not:
- a guided tour with occasional French
- a passive learning experience
- a grammar course
This is active, lived language.
You will get the most from this if:
- you are already building some French (any level from 2 to 6 works)
- you are willing to speak, even when unsure
- you want French to become part of your identity, not your to-do list
Booking is done through The French Room Bookwhen page.
Key points:
- Spaces are limited and tend to fill early
- Your place is secured on booking
- Full details (dates, price, and schedule) are listed on the booking page
- Standard booking terms apply
You will receive:
- preparation guidance before the trip
- clarity on how to arrive and join the group
NB you book and organise your own travel and accommodation
If you’ve been building French in your Cahier and wondering:
“Will this actually hold in real life?”
This is where you find out.
