Nîmes in June: A French Immersion Adventure That’s Not Just a Trip

Apr 14
🌞 Two Weeks in Nîmes (And Why It’s Not Just a Trip) In June,

I’m taking a group of French learners to Nîmes for a trip that’s not really a trip at all—it’s more like a lived-in adventure. There’s a plan (obviously), but it’s designed to feel like life, not logistics. It’s not a package holiday. It’s not a course. It’s a gentle, immersive, real-world French experience. And you're invited.

🥖 What’s Happening?

I’ll be spending two weeks soaking up the best of southern France—street festivals, Roman ruins, slow lunches, local markets, impromptu apéros and probably some very enthusiastic dancing.

And you can join me for as many days as you wish during the 2 weeks.

This isn’t about ticking off tourist sites. It’s about practising your French *in the wild*—chatting with waiters, navigating train stations, buying cheese from actual cheesemongers. You know... real life.

🍷 Just a Few of the Highlights

- **La Feria de Nîmes** – a full city-wide party with music, dancing and more paella than you can imagine
- **A wine-tasting day** in a village known for its potters (and very good rosé)
- **An 80km e-bike challenge** through flamingo territory in the Camargue
- **La Fête de la Musique** – a magical solstice night where the whole country turns into a music venue
- And plenty of smaller, slower moments: coffee chats, market wanders, sunshine on stone steps...

🤔 How It Works (The Practical Bit)

- **You can join for the whole trip, or just opt in to individual days**—it's completely flexible
- **You organise your own accommodation**, which means you can choose a style and budget that suits you
- **Some activities need to be booked in advance** (like bike rental or boat trips)
- **All transport details are provided**, and where possible, I’ve kept things simple and low-cost
- **Taxis from Uzès are covered by The French Room**. Buses are €1 and payable on the day. Trains? Book them via Trainline ASAP—prices move fast
- **Places are limited**—this isn’t a big group trip. It's kept small on purpose, so we can really connect and speak and *learn*

🧀 So, Who Is This For?

- You’ve been learning French for a while, but want to actually *use* it
- You’re craving something a bit deeper than a holiday
- You don’t need everything polished or perfect—but you do love a good plan
- You’re curious, independent and up for a bit of French chaos in the best possible way

🧭 Final Thing

The full itinerary—with timings, bookings and the language focus for each day—is shared only inside The French Room. But if you’re reading this and thinking “I want in”, there’s still time.Come and be part of it.
