How to Book and Manage Your French Room Live Classes

How to Join and Attend Your Live Group Classes

Live Group Classes work differently from Private Coaching.

When you join a Live Group Class, you reserve your place in a regular group. You do not book a separate class every week.

Your class, class chat and weekly notes all sit inside The French Room.

How to join a Live Group Class

Choose the class that matches your level from the Live Group Classes page.

Current regular groups run at Levels 3-6, with a maximum of six learners in each class.

You can join at the beginning of a term or at a half-term joining point, provided there is a suitable place available.

Once you have enrolled, your place in that group is reserved.

You do not need to return and book it again each week.

Where to join your class each week

Once you are enrolled, there are three easy ways to open your class.

From My Study
Go to My Study and open the Events calendar at the top of the page. Your upcoming Live Group Class will appear there. Open the event to join your class.

From your reminder
You will also receive a reminder the day before your class. You can use the link in that reminder to join.

Directly from the Live Group Class Course Page
Join from the event calendar near the top of the page

There is no longer a need to use your separate Bookwhen booking page for Live Group Classes.

Your class chat and weekly notes

Each Live Group Class has its own private class space inside The French Room. This is where I post the work for your next class and where your weekly class notes build up over the year.

If you miss a class, read the notes before the next one and you will be able to pick up the thread when you return.

You can also use the class chat to let me and the group know if you will not be there.

What to have with you

For your Live Group Class, have:
- your Cahier
- Le Bescherelle
- Grammaire Progressive du Francais
- anything I have asked you to work on before the class

Bonjour Brilliance provides the preparation for your Live Group Class: the current 907 word, Rendez-Vous Tutos, Libraries and the work you do in your Cahier.

That means we do not need to cram material you can work through independently into the time you are paying to spend with me. We can use the class for speaking, listening, questioning, making connections and seeing what happens when you actually use the French.

Voice Mastery Studio includes access to all the resources found in Bonjour Brilliance.

A few useful things to know

Do I need to book my Live Group Class every week?
No. Once you are enrolled, your place is reserved. Open your class from the Events calendar in My Study or from the reminder sent the day before.

What happens if I miss a class?
You do not need to cancel your place. Let me and the group know in the class chat if you can. I will add the class notes as usual so that you can see what we explored and what to do next.

What happens if only one or two people attend?
If you are the only learner attending, the session becomes a 30-minute private class. If two learners attend, the class runs for one hour. From three learners, the full 90-minute Live Group Class runs as usual.

Can I join during the teaching year?
Yes. There are joining points at the beginning of each term and at half-term, subject to a suitable place being available.

Do I need Bonjour Brilliance or Voice Mastery Studio?
Yes. Live Group Classes are not designed as standalone weekly lessons. Bonjour Brilliance provides the work before the class and keeps the thread going afterwards. Voice Mastery Studio includes all the Bonjour Brilliance resources, so Voice Mastery members already have the membership needed for Live Group Classes.

Private Coaching is still booked through Bookwhen

Private Coaching remains flexible and uses the Bookwhen booking system. If you want a 30- or 60-minute one-to-one session, choose from the available appointments and book through the Private Coaching schedule.

Private Coaching can be used regularly as your main way of working with me, occasionally when you want focused one-to-one teaching, or alongside Live Group Classes.

See Private Coaching availability >

Live Group Classes or Private Coaching?

Live Group Classes give you a reserved place with the same small group and a regular weekly learning rhythm. Private Coaching gives you one-to-one teaching with flexible appointment times.

Both use The French Room 907 Method and both require an active Bonjour Brilliance or Voice Mastery Studio membership.
