The French Room has evolved from being a physical space where local students used to come for their weekly French class into an immersive French experience that goes beyond anything I’ve been able to offer before. Your live classes have been online for 3 years now and we have all enjoyed how this has opened up the possibility and potential for French learning.
And for the last year we have been developing additional learning resources to make the journey more interesting and fulfilling. Now, we are ready to make the next big step forward into a brand new French Room experience that brings everything we love and have learnt along the way together with some exciting new technology that allows us to connect with each other across the world.
We used to have a website that made the practicalities of booking live French classes simple. When we wanted to start using that same format to develop a more immersive experience it soon became clear that we would need something much more sophisticated.
What we really wanted was a virtual space that felt like a physical place. A way of feeling like we were stepping into The French Room both when in live classes and also when studying outside of class.
I am always looking for new ways to share the variety and diversity of French culture with you. So, I wanted a space where I could do that in a way where you could dip in and out as it suited you and not miss out on information. I also want to learn from you and your discoveries and experiences of French life and to share that knowledge with others who are interested and invested in the French language and culture just as you are.
So, we needed something more than a bog standard website!
