Welcome to The French Room Map

, you are on the central orientation page for The French Room Online Language School for adults.

Let’s start by laying the map out on the bonnet and showing you how to get around The French Room.

This map of our online school has the feel of a fictional French town — a place where you can wander, stop for a coffee and head to the learning areas whenever the mood takes you. It's a way of visualizing the whole French Room campus.

Like any new place, it takes a few visits to find your bearings and discover its depths.

That’s part of its charm. What begins as map-led orientation soon becomes familiarity, and before long you’ll be whizzing around it like a local.
My Study

Take your time to explore

Every visit begins in My Study.

From there, you can step out into Le Quartier Bonjour Brilliance and begin your French immersion.

Just outside you’ll find a large Courtyard, framed by arches that lead to 6 Libraries, and above them, the Live Zoom Rooms where classes take place.

At the centre stands the Amphitheatre — the gathering place for live streamed RDV Tutos, Cook-Alongs, our Book Club and other social events.
The French Room doesn’t hand you everything all at once — it opens up as you explore.
The more you look, the more you find.

It’s the same feeling you get when exploring a real place for the first time.

At first you might feel like a visitor. But each time you return you’ll notice something new — a familiar name, a detail you hadn’t seen before — and little by little you become a regular and then a local.
Like any living place, The French Room changes and evolves.
New Tutos appear, events are refreshed, and recommendations rotate on the 10-minute table — always three at a time. It’s a space that keeps unfolding, just enough to keep you curious.

Quick Start — How to Use The French Room

The French Room isn’t built to keep you busy; it’s built to make your French feel alive and real. There are no leaderboards, streaks or guilt-inducing reminders. Drop in when you like to enjoy the place, the language and the people you meet.

And just as no town dictates the exact path you take through it, The French Room lets you find your own way.

Think the opposite of those pre-determined, mandatory pathways we've all experienced at IKEA.

When You Arrive

You’ll start in My Study — the place that shows you what’s happening across The French Room.

Here you’ll see your équilibre — the balance of how you’ve been learning. It shows which libraries you’ve visited, what’s new in Bonjour Brilliance and which live sessions are about to begin.

From here, paths open outwards into Le Quartier Bonjour Brilliance:

- Upstairs to the Live Classes – book a class, meet Ellie for coaching, make a change to a booking, join a waiting list or just see what’s available this week.

- Out into the Courtyard Amphitheatre – check dates for live-streamed Rendez-Vous Tutos and upcoming events such as Book Club and Cook-Alongs (some free, some paid). Drop in as you wish.

- Through the arches to the six Learn French Libraries – quiet spaces for self-study in Grammar, Vocabulary, Listening, Pronunciation, Practical French and Reading.

You’ll also find new 10-minute Tutos curated by Ellie — quick info-snacks to dip into whenever you can.

It’s quite likely you’ll bump into me in the Libraries or around Le Quartier Bonjour Brilliance. When I'm teaching in a Live Zoom Room or offline, you’ll often find notes left for you in the chats to help you decide what to learn next.

Everything begins in My Study — a quiet place before you step into the liveliness of Le Quartier Bonjour Brilliance.

Learn french libraries

Explore the Libraries

Through the archways of Le Quartier Bonjour Brilliance, six Libraries wait for you:

Grammar • Vocabulary • Listening • Pronunciation • Practical French • Reading.

They’re open 24 / 7, so you can wander in whenever and for as long as you like. 10 minutes is good — especially if you can repeat it more than once a week.

Regulars treat them like favourite bookshops: you always leave with something new in your mind.

They’re peaceful, timeless spaces that welcome you day or night.
The Amphitheatre

Attend an Open Air Event

At the centre of Le Quartier Bonjour Brilliance sits the Amphitheatre — the open-air heart of The French Room.

This is where we gather for live-streamed Rendez-Vous Tutos, Cook-Alongs, Book Club and special cultural sessions that bring France to life wherever you are.

No booking needed — just arrive. Sometimes it’s lively and social, other times a quieter circle for discussion, reading or simply listening in.

The Amphitheatre connects you to French Room life — ideas, experiences and Tutos shared in real time. Each event is unique, a moment that fades once it’s over — or, in the case of Rendez-Vous Tutos, saved in Bonjour Brilliance and the Libraries for later viewing.

Come as you are. Bring a notebook, a glass of wine, a coffee or just your curiosity — you’ll always find good company here.
🆕 New upper floor Opening soon

Start developing your voice with Bonjour Brilliance + Voice Mastery.

There’s a new floor open above the CourtyardBonjour Brilliance + Voice Mastery.

You’ll notice it straight away: a bright space, freshly opened, with that smell you get when the builders have just left!

It sits near the Live Zoom Rooms and occupies a whole floor because it holds so much learning — a place where self-study meets self-expression.

Here, Bonjour Brilliance expands to include dedicated voice and presence work: weekly challenges, small group practice, personal feedback and cultural communication modules that help your French sound really confident and self-assured.

It’s the next level of learning at The French Room — familiar yet full of new energy.
When you’re ready, take the stairs and have a look around

Becoming a local

Finding your footing here takes a little time — and that’s exactly the point. Each visit makes the place more familiar and the faces less like strangers.

Before long, you’ll know where everything lives and how it all fits together — and you’ll be the one pointing new arrivals in the right direction.
Learning French here isn’t about speed, targets or streaks.
My aim is to get you as close as possible to a visit to a language school in France — by meeting together and learning online.
